  • Last night at about 6:30PM, a three-year-old boy, who was outside with his grandfather on the 400 block of Decatur Street in Holmesburg, ran into the street between parked cars and was struck and run over by a dark-colored SUV. The driver stopped, got out, said the child had run into his path, and then drove away. The child is now in critical but stable condition with numerous injuries. Anyone with any information about the driver should call the Accident Investigations Division at 215-685-3181.
  • Organizers say the 10,000 Men project was a great success, and generated 12,000 sign-ups. But they still need support from Philadelphia's business community, in the form of donations to the project and jobs for young people. Orientation sessions begin today and continue on Wednesday and Thursday; click through for details.
  • Two leading Pennsylvania Republicans are saying that "despite the front-loading of their party's primary season next year," they suspect the battle for the presidential nomination will be a long one, because none of the candidates is strong enough to blow away the others.
  • Now that the Philadelphia School District has finished all its paperwork, the Pennsylvania Department of Education has released the $20 million in funds it'd been holding back.
  • Delaware County has promised $30 million to Chester's $115 million riverfront soccer stadium project, and county officials and investors unveiled a rendering of the stadium yesterday. But Rendell warns that if the state Senate doesn't approve crucial state aid, the project will fail.
  • Any Reid's son Garrett Reid was jailed the other day for violating his bail conditions by missing a scheduled drug test, but after a test in prison came up negative, and after some tough questioning from the judge during a hearing, Reid was released until his November 1st sentencing.
