Yeah that was a bummer. Their calamari was fanfriggingtastic. How good was that martini though? Strawberry puree AND champagne? More please.

I only have one tapas experience in Philly, so far, but it was an excellent one. Last Fall my sweetie took me out for dinner at Bar Ferdinand. It was an extremely lovely experience! We went there with time to kill, and deliberately ordered in several rounds, eventually sampling nearly everything that caught our interest on the menu over a period of three hours.

Since it was last Fall, I can't specifically call out the names of the plates that especially captivated us, anymore. I can tell you my memory the experience is suffused with a warm glow that can't be entirely accounted for by the company or by the profusion of wonderful cocktails we imbibed during this marathon session.

My only other tapas experience was at Jaleo in DC. To my palate, Bar Ferdinand was very nearly as good.
