A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets.

- We have seen the future of food, and it's in Korea: the french-fry coated hot dog. Apparently artisan hot dog vendors are a big thing over there, and they wrap them in all kinds of things - like bacon and mashed potatoes - before deep frying them. God bless their hearts. (Via Sarah)
- Some more official Star Trek casting announcements: John Cho will be playing Sulu, and Simon Pegg himself will be Scotty. Hot damn!
- Portal is a game that everyone who plays it seems to love with a fierce and terrible love. And now you can try a stripped-down version of it created in Flash. Enjoy!
- Michel Gondry is going to make an animated film with his 16-year-old son. They're writing it together, directing it together, and the animation will all be based on the kid's art. It's certainly a nice idea, but we'll see how it turns out...
- Cinematical is helping you come up with a theme for your Halloween party by offering up seven possibilities based on the world of film.
- Richard Kelly, director of Southland Tales, has his next project lined up. It'll be The Box, an adaptation of a short story about a stranger who presents a woman with a mysterious box that can grant wishes, but only at the cost of someone's life. The stranger will be played by Frank Langella, and the woman by Cameron Diaz.
- A new Captain America will be introduced in Captain America #34, due out in January of next year; Marvel has already unveiled the cover, which features a picture of the new Cap in costume.
- We may now add soccer (or "football") to the list of things that video games are supposedly ruining.
- Nnnnnnnnooooooooo!!! Nintendo has delayed the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl to February 10 of next year. Suck! Joystiq already got their hands on the game, however, and they give us an idea what to expect when it does finally come out (although this guy apparently has never played a Smash Bros. game before, so you have to take his comments with a grain of salt). The rest of the bad and good news about upcoming releases is here.
- We're one of those poor, sad people who don't "get" Stephen Chow's films, but even we were interested to see the trailer for the follow-up to Shaolin Soccer (which is apparently called Shaolin Soccer 2: Shaolin Girl), and we figure you will be, too.
- Coheed and Cambria's "Welcome Home" just got added to the known tracks on Rock Band.
- We all hate the RIAA, but this Wired editorial does a good job of explaining why in an intelligent way, while taking into account recent events, like a certain legal decision, and a certain album release. (Via Jill)
