A tall, icy glass of our favorite internet junk, just for you.

- The Movie Blog dug up the filming start dates for a bunch of upcoming high profile movies.
- Would you like to see the biggest Marvel heroes (plus one villain) get beat up by a bunch of cute little girls? Of course you would. (Via)
- The full Golden Compass trailer is here (posters, too). It starts a little slow, but by the end it had our spine tingling. And while we're talking trailers, here's one for Jumper that kicks ass.
- A near-mint copy of Detective Comics #27 - the issue where Batman first appeared - was recently found in an attic and sold to a collector who owns the Pittsburgh region's five New Dimension Comics stores. The comic is believed to be the second most valuable available (the most valuable being Action Comics #1, which features the first appearance of Superman).
- A poll of US moviegoers has named Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as the most anticipated movie scheduled for release in the next year.
- Horror film veteran Tobe Hooper will direct the film adaptation of Stephen King's From a Buick 8.
- You can play text adventures on your DS! Nice.
- Speaking of which, we've got a ton of Nintendo-related links for you today. First, if you've got some extra time, the big N's entire 45-minute long Japanese press conference, featuring many game demo videos, is available as a streaming video online, with English-language dub (if you don't feel like watching the whole thing, here's an excerpt featuring Wii Music). Meanwhile, word is you'll be able to play crazy super-powered dream events, and you'll be able to play as your Mii, in the upcoming Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games. And if you've got a story about how the Wii changed your life, there'll soon be a website where you can post it. Finally, a Wii cake, and what would happen if your Mii got emo (via).
- It's been a while since we linked to a Penny Arcade comic, but we think yesterday's deserves a little hypertext.
- It's been a while since we linked to a post on Monkeys in the News, too, but we can't resist a monkey on a goat on a tightrope.
- Man, we're kind of excited about this StupidFilter project. It could make the internet readable again!
- Water-cooled PS3. 'Nuff said.
- Now here's a concept for a movie: Horror in the Wind is about "two biogeneticists who invent an airborne formula that reverses the whole world's sexual orientation." It's a horror comedy, and will star Robert Englund.

Across the Ist-a-Verse

Tobe Hooper and Stephen King? Talk about a dastardly duo.
If only they would join the race for 2008 as running mates.
Talk about voter turnout!
Quite soon I think all the major candidates in US political races will be celebrities with no political experience, so it could happen!
