- In honor of John Lennon's birthday, the Imagine Peace Tower (surrounded by buried capsules with wishes of peace in them) will be unveiled today on the Isle of Videy, Reykjavik, Iceland. You will supposedly be able to see the unveiling, and send your own messages of peace, at ImaginePeace.com.
- Apparently scientists have developed a God helmet. We're not sure whether to be excited or incredibly depressed. (Via Jill)

- Supposedly preproduction on a Disney/Pixar animated film version of John Carter of Mars is heating up.
- Sadly, according to Jeffery Combs, the really subversive- and interesting-sounding House of Re-Animator is probably not going to get made.
- Rumor is that the 40GB PS3, which was officially announced for Europe just recently, will be coming to the US on November 2nd.
- Somebody realized that giving a massage is actually pretty boring, and then took the logical next step and created a device that the receiver of the massage wears and the massager manipulates as a video game controller, thus giving a massage and playing a game at the same time. Brilliant!
- We've been reading and posting about the upcoming Futurama movies for a while now, but Nerd World seems to have dug up a trailer for the first one. Sweet!
- Heh. Matthew Vaughn says he could have made a movie a hundred times better than X-Men: The Last Stand if he'd been able to direct it. We thought that movie was quite good, so a movie that's a hundred times better is actually kind of hard to imagine...
- The Nintendo Wii is currently the most registered-for wedding gift on Amazon.
- An Xbox 360 that was accidently melted a bit on the stove (?!) actually still works!
- The world's oldest Halo 3 player? Apparently it's a 95-year-old Japanese grandmother.
- Worried that you might never see a sequel to Goonies? Well, Sean Astin is here to reassure you! He says the film is an "absolute certainty." Apparently it's just a matter of time and scheduling.

- Neil Gaiman says he wants Terry Gilliam to do the movie adaptation of Sandman - and, apparently, the movie adaptations of any of the rest of his works he's up to doing. Sounds like somebody has a man-crush...
