- Cross your fingers, folks! A new Entertainment Weekly article suggests a Peter Jackson-directed movie of The Hobbit is closer to becoming a reality.
- We think the Scream movies made up a great trilogy, and that they should probably remain a trilogy. But then again, it wouldn't be a great parody of a slasher movie series if it didn't go on way longer than it should. So we're going to go ahead and be cautiously optimistic about Scream 4.
- Try not to all vomit at once, but it looks like Brett Ratner will be directing the Escape from New York remake.
- Rumor is that Tyrese Gibson will play the Green Lantern in the upcoming JLA movie. OK, that's pretty cool.
- Major Nelson at the Xbox team would like to know what Microsoft is doing wrong - and not just with the Xbox, but in general. Go ahead, give him a piece of your mind. He asked for it! (Via)

- The creative group behind the new Star Trek movie (J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci) have gotten a series commitment from Fox for their show entitled Fringe, which will be about a possibly crazy research scientist, his estranged son, and the female FBI agent who brings them together all solving paranormal mysteries together. We hope they travel around in a spiffy van with a dog...
- Aw, man. We wish we had a back-up model of Sputnik to hang in our house...
- Microsoft sold $300 million worth of Halo 3 in its first week, making it the fastest-selling videogame ever. Since you clearly all have it, why not play it for a good cause?
- There could be a Serenity 2 in the works. Woo hoo!
- The trailer for Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd. Wow, it really is the musical! We're not sure how we feel about the movie from this little peek at it... but we're still going to see it. (Via)
