
- The Daily News discusses the biggest appointment the next Mayor will have to make: the police commissioner.
- Nominations are being accepted now for the Citadel Heart of Learning Awards, which honor the best educators in Chester County. Anyone can submit a nomination online at www.citadelheartoflearning.com between October 1st and December 31st.
- There was a fire Tuesday night at a Northeast Philadelphia warehouse where a Mummers group stored its props, and Fire Department investigators ruled yesterday that it was deliberately set.
- President Bush was in Lancaster yesterday morning talking about the budget and Iran. There were protesters outside during his speech, and a protest of about 400 people the night before.
- Mayoral nominees Michael Nutter and Al Taubenberger had a debate yesterday at the Union League, where they were both well received, and apparently agreed on almost everything.
- Speaking of debates, some more details came out yesterday about the Democratic presidential debate that will be held in Philadelphia on October 30th. It will be televised nationally by MSNBC, moderated by Brian Williams (anchor of NBC Nightly News), and it will run 9PM to 11PM.
