- GameStop's merger with EB opens the door to the possibility of GameStop carrying video games rated as Adults Only, as EB has carried such games in the past. Apparently it's something GameStop will be considering on a case-by-case basis.
- Yet more posts on the Tokyo Game Show! This time it's just the important stuff: the maids and butlers helping people out on the show floor, and pictures of cosplayers.
- "Graffiti Archaeology is a project devoted to the study of graffiti-covered walls as they change over time." Cool! Too bad there are no photos from Philly... (Via)
- The Dark Knight is supposed to be filming in Hong Kong in November, but officials there are expressing concern that the production will cause traffic problems and noise pollution.
- A new user interface for GMail just might be in the pipeline, according to rumors picked up by Download Squad.
- The entirety of a BBC special about the elusive Steve Ditko, and his largely unrecognized part in the creation of Spider-Man, can currently be found for viewing in six parts on YouTube, and The Beat has the links. Besides being loaded with fascinating interviews with comic book creators and comic book fans, it's also an intriguing and moving mystery. (Via)
- Giovanni Ribisi has joined the cast of James Cameron's Avatar. Good stuff!
- Heroes: Origins, an upcoming Heroes spin-off prequel series, is collecting some exciting creative talent; Kevin Smith and Eli Roth are going to write and direct their own episodes, and Michael Dougherty, co-writer of Superman Returns, will write an episode, as well.
- Halo 3 has been leaked onto the internet as a 6.14 GB file. Downloading it would be bad and evil, but... it's out there. Just so you know.
- Game|Life is right; this trailer definitely makes Rainy Woods look like Twin Peaks: The Game. And we're not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
- Here's a clip from The Darjeeling Limited. It's not particularly exciting, but then again Wes Anderson's films can't really be separated out or into, or understood by, isolated scenes; they build over their entire length until you find yourself enveloped in a strange and different world. We'll see if this one turns out to be a world worth visiting.
- Rumor is that 40GB PS3 will be officially announced by Sony this week.
- Tarantino mentioned in a recent interview that he was interested in making "a cool sex movie" set in Stockholm; Vulture has responded by putting together a list of Ten Directors Who Could Make an Even Unsexier Sex Movie Than Quentin Tarantino. (Via)
- Sally Field has been cast as Lincoln's wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, in Steven Spielberg's upcoming Lincoln biopic.
- Tony Scott is apparently planning to direct a remake of The Taking of Pelham One Two Three which will star Denzel Washington.
- Ben Kingsley will play William Shakespeare in a film adaptation of a novel called Will, which describes a fictional account of the playwright on his deathbed as he prepares his final will and testament.
- Cinematical has seen and reviewed Southland Tales, and although they definitely found it confusing and odd, they seem to have liked it. We're excited!
- Joystiq has pics and details about the McFarlane Halo 3 toys.
- Bacon! It's so popular these days. Everybody loves bacon. (Except vegetarians and such, of course.) But how much do you really love bacon?
