- The George School, a Quaker boarding and day school near Newtown, yesterday became "the recipient of what is believed to be the largest gift ever to an existing private school - $128.5 million." - A 46-year-old Marlton man was indicted on a murder charge yesterday for smothering his wife because, he says, "he wanted to spare her distress over their failing home-based consulting business." Although, as it turns out, he was wrong, and the business wasn't failing.
- The Inquirer has the details about yesterday's anti-violence rally by home health care workers at the Convention Center. One result of the rally was the formation of the Coalition for Safer Streets, "a union of public health organizations, residents, politicians and community groups that will work to encourage respect for life and push for legislation to counter some factors in violent crime, including the easy availability of firearms."
