The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment.

- Beloved sci-fi/children's author Madeleine L'Engle died in a nursing home on Thursday of natural causes (via). She was 88. For everyone lost, however, someone is gained: Warren Ellis lets us know on his blog that a son was born last night to great comic creator Matt Fraction and partner Kelly Sue DeConnick. Rest in peace, Madeleine, and congratulations Matt and Kelly Sue.
- Chris Sims lays down for us the Science of Gangsta Rap, and the results are truly hilarious (although we do disagree a bit with the construction of that Venn diagram...).
- As we all know, the internet is for porn, so why not get yourself a mouse that reflects that? This could be the most tasteless mouse ever!
- It's back to school today, which means it's time for a hilarious back to school comic from Married to the Sea.
- Ooh, neat! Mona Lisas!
- Rumor is that they might start shooting Wolverine in Sydney as early as this November. Woo hoo! Go Wolverine!
- Indy 4 has an official title, and it is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. We like it! It hearkens back to the movie adventure serials that Indiana Jones came out of in the first place.
- Oh, good! Turns out the Wii version of Guitar Hero III will have online play at launch after all; the real issue all along was that there won't be downloadable songs available at launch, but that's nowhere near as big a deal.
- You'll be able to pick which of the game's songs is most likely to play in each level of Smash Bros. Brawl. We think it'd be even cooler if you could import your own music into the game, but this is kind of neat, too.
- We were starting to think that the Wii Zapper was a pretty pointless add-on, but now that it looks like it'll be bundled with a game called Zelda Crossbow Training, we have no choice but to purchase it.
- On the occasion of Brian K. Vaughan taking over writing duties on Joss Whedon's Buffy comic book for a while (and doing a great job of it, we might add), Comic Book Resources has posted a piece in which Whedon interviews Vaughan about Buffy, Vaughan's comic Runaways (which is also excellent, and on which Whedon recently took over writing duties, in a bit of creative synergy), and other nerdy things. It's a couple of ridiculously witty writers talking geek for a bunch of paragraphs, so it's fantastic. (Via)
- The Movie Blog has found what appears to be an outline of the upcoming Magneto movie. Beware spoilers!
- The upcoming teen comedy Hamlet 2 is thankfully not actually a sequel to the Bard's great play, but instead a film about "a struggling drama teacher who decides to write the ultimate in sequels, Hamlet 2, to save his drama department." Which actually sounds quite funny.
- The new John Rambo trailer is essentially just a litany of blood and violence. Click and enjoy! (Via)
- The rumors of Master Chief being set in wax at Madame Tussauds were, surprisingly, actually true. He's the first video game character to be immortalized by them in their 250-year history. Which, considering the fact that video game characters have only been around for the past 20 years or so, is not really all that impressive. Anyway, he'll be hanging out at the Tussauds in Vegas if you want to go visit him.
- Every once in a while, seemingly by mistake, a piece of work actually deserving of acclaim wins an Emmy, and that happened the other day when the South Park episode "Make Love, Not Warcraft" won the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program (less than one hour).
