Casino Royale

casinopencopal.jpgAccording to Phillyblog, there's a protest tonight from 5 to 7 at the Sugar House site on Delaware and Frankford Avenues:

Many Northern Liberties residents and business owners, whether for or against casinos in general, have expressed opposition to the location of the Sugar House casino, which would be on the northeast corner of our community, as little as 190 feet from residential homes. Accordingly, the NLNA has joined with two dozen other neighborhood groups to push for a 1,500-foot buffer between any casino and any existing home, school, or place of worship.

So if you live in the neighborhood, or if you don't want our city to become something akin to the crappiest parts of Atlantic City, get out there and protest.

I've uploaded photos of this protest to my Flickr account. I'm not a resident of Northern Liberties, however, I do share their discontent in having such a boisterous facility placed literally, in their backyard.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing the link.
