UPDATE: Digg this, please!

A while back, we posted pictures from the set of M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening. Well, now a trustworthy source has told us some plot details, and we couldn't resist passing them on to you. However, in the interests of saving you from spoilers (and there's a pretty big one here!), we're putting the details after the jump. Click on... if you dare!!!
Oh, also, if you want to try to get some interesting photos or spoilery tidbits of your own (and hopefully pass them on to us), you should know that Shyamalan and the crew will be filming on Smedley Street (runs from Spruce to Pine, between 16th and 17th) on August 31.
From our source:
Something is making people in Philadelphia go crazy and kill themselves, and they can't figure out what it is or why. In one scene, some people are driving through some farm land and they find out (on the radio, maybe?) that it's an airborne virus. Being out in the sticks, they think they're okay, until they drive by a farm and see a bunch of tree surgeons or farmers or something who've hanged themselves with garden hoses. They try to seal up all the air vents, windows, etc. in the car, but it's too late. The car stops, idles for a minute, and then accelerates straight into a tree. The two people in the front seat go through the window and die immediately. John Leguizamo's character was in the back seat and survives... but stumbles out of the car, picks up a shard of glass from the broken window, and slits his wrists.

Wow! That's Shamalong-a-ding-dong for you. Why is it that people love him so much?
I worked on the movie for a few days, he's a dick. Arrogant, whiny, and not even the least bit talented.
He shoots his movies in all medium shots like a TV show, all his actors whisper as if it makes it more dramatic, and all of his stories are completely stolen.
Yeah, this synopsis sounds like 15 other flicks, particularly Japanese movies like Kairo & Suicide Circle. Hell, it kind of sounds like the new film Signal which has been playing festivals for over a year now.
But those were all existential horror masterpieces. Shamalongadingdong doesn't really actually have an imagination.
Let me guess, the federal government is was trying to test some new type of weapon, brain control through radio transmissons... Oops, they accidentially set it on suicide, but they spend the move convincing everyone there's a virus started by bio-chemical weapons launched by terrorists.
I know, and then it turns out to be a dream. I hope this movie bombs. :)
This guy thinks he's the next Hichcoch. Please.... Alfy broke boundries, dealt with some pretty risque stuff in subtle ways. M Night. loves jesus so therefore has no brain for thinking critically about anything.
Gee, i wonder why you only "worked" on the movie for a few days? Here's an idea, if your such a Hitchcock fan maybe you should learn to spell his name correctly. Too bad Night didn't run his idea by you first, i bet he's gonna regret that...but take heart, the new "Harold & Kumar" movie will be out soon so that should make you happy.
Something in Philadelphia, making people kill themselves, wow is this a comparison to the recent two year increase in murders for this city?
Wow, he just remade "Day of the Triphids" and just doesn't tell you until late into the movie. Sorry HB, i just might've ruined the view you had of your god, M Night. =(
