You Say You Want a [Projekt] Revolution?

rsz_1LinkinPark.jpgSummer's winding down—or at least that's what the weather has told us the last few days—but one of the big "festival" concerts is coming through town this weekend, so the summer can't quite be done yet. Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution tour hits the Tweeter Center this Saturday. In addition to headliners Linkin Park, the tour features My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, HIM, and a number of others. Plus, the Major League Baseball Road Show featuring batting cages and video game kiosks will be at the show, so if there are any bands you're not interested in seeing, you'll still have some fun stuff to do.

Fortunately, Projekt Revolution is set up a little better than the Warped Tour was, at least inasmuch as we were able to find a schedule online telling us when the bands were performing, so we can plan accordingly and make sure we catch who we want to catch. (The fact that the day seems to be one continuous concert rather than seven different things going on at different stages also helps.) So who are we going to make sure we catch? Find out after the jump.

Saosin: This band is starting to get some mainstream recognition and airplay with their single "You're Not Alone" from their self-titled major label debut. One of the best parts of festival-style concerts is checking out up-and-coming bands that we're not quite familiar with, and Saosin is the one we're hoping will really impress us.
2:30 PM, Revolution Stage.

Taking Back Sunday: At this year's Warped Tour, we learned (somewhat to our own surprise) that we really like hardcore music when it's done really well, which it was by Bayside. Taking Back Sunday has been around for awhile, but we've only recently started really listening to them because of this newfound enjoyment of the genre. The live version of "Liar (It Takes One to Know One)" on the band's MySpace page gives us high hopes that their live show will be as good, if not better than, their studio cuts.
6:55 PM, Main Stage.

Linkin Park: Naturally. It's their show, and their new album, Minutes to Midnight has grown on us steadily over the last few months. It's a more mature-sounding album than their previous efforts, and we're looking forward to seeing them live again. This Phillyist has seen Linkin Park perform twice before; one time was really good, the other time not so much. So we're a little curious, and we're hoping for the best, but we won't be surprised if the headliner isn't the strongest act of the day.
9:20 PM, Main Stage.
