The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you.

- Apparently, in the next three to 10 years we're expecting scientists to create artificial life. Um... does that freak anybody else out?! Didn't Dr. Frankenstein decide this was a bad idea?
- If you've even seen the ads for Superbad, you know there's a sequence where a character creates a fake ID with the name "McLovin" on it. Well, now you can slap your picture on a McLovin ID of your own!
- Savage Steve Holland, the dude who made Better Off Dead, claims in this interview that he's directing the third Legally Blonde movie. It's not entirely clear whether he's kidding or not, though. (Via)
- Pretty funny story: Michael Bay got super-pissed about the news that we posted yesterday about Paramount and Dreamworks dropping the Blu-Ray format (news which, incidentally, caused Fox and MGM to come out strongly in support of Blu-Ray). He felt it was wrong for the studios to deny one of the best formats possible, and vowed on his website to not make a Transformers 2. But apparently he put that post up at 1:30 in the morning, and after thinking it over and calming down, he took it down and said he might be up for Transformers 2 after all. Heh heh. It's like he's a 17-year-old drunk-posting to his MySpace! Frankly, we're hoping he recants again and re-vows not to make Transformers 2, for the good of the world.
- Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston are going to star in a film adaptation of Marley & Me, a bestselling memoir by Philadelphia Inquirer columnist John Grogan which focuses on Grogan's relationship with an incorrigible Labrador retriever. We're assuming that Wilson will play the dog.
- Ryan Reynolds made comments in a recent interview which suggested he just might be playing the Flash, possibly in a JLA movie. Hmm... yeah, we can see how that could work. Meanwhile, it unfortunately sounds like Christian Bale won't be in that movie. Aww, c'mon, Bale! Why you gotta ruin it?
- Heh heh. Defective Yeti joked himself into a corner with the setup, "I like my pizza the way I like my women." He then found it necessary to follow through with a filthy, offensive punchline that we rather enjoy. He's posted that, as well as a list of the best reader-suggested punchlines. Enjoy!
- Apparently this Phillyist wasn't the only one tempted to pick up a real guitar after playing Guitar Hero; it's actually a bit of a thing. But most people find themselves giving up when it turns out it's not nearly as easy as playing the game. We're reminded of Bart Simpson's admission to his father about playing the guitar: "I didn't get good at it right away, so I gave up."
- Joystiq got their hands on a blurry picture of a pre-order box for Guitar Hero III and have put together an even more complete track list for the game.
- We always like to try to help the Wii-less amongst our reading population, so here's a link to another contest that could win you a free Wii. Good luck! (Via)
- Got some time to watch some funny animated videos? Here's links to some funny animated videos!
- YouTube, as always, is a treasure trove of wonderful things, like this video which features every story arc of classic Doctor Who compressed into about 5 minutes. There's also a rather corny video tribute to the Doctor's arch enemy, The Master. (Via)
- Todd McFarlane will produce and Josh Olson (A History of Violence) will write a new revisionist film adaptation of Baum's Oz books called simply Oz. Predictably McFarlane is going for "a dark, edgy and muscular PG-13" tone, but Olson is looking for something a bit tamer and more PG, so we'll see what they end up with.
- We posted yesterday Game|Life's run-down of the finalists in the Doritos video game contest, but now Game|Life reveals there's some controversy spinning around the contest, as many of the entrants put a lot more work into their designs, and had a lot more interesting ideas, than the finalists.
- Good news for those of us who are stuck in the last gen, but still want a shot at playing Rock Band - a version of the game is coming out for the PS2 in 2008. Unfortunately, it sounds like that version might only be available in Europe. Still, we're sure if you really want it, you can find a way to import it. Anyway, you can also see a full track list for the game if you click that link.
- Eva Mendez has joined the cast of Frank Miller's film adaptation of The Spirit. We like!
- Fox has decided on a title for Aliens vs. Predator 2, and unfortunately, it is really stupid. The title is Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. See, we told you it was stupid.
