Across the Ist-a-Verse
I may have slammed the sushi at Reading Terminal Market, but RTM is actually just about my favorite place to grab lunch in Center City. The possibilities are endless: last week, Ross and I had some pretty yummy crepes at Profi's Creperie; yesterday, we split a tasty panini at Mezze. You can't go wrong with the sandwiches at DiNic's or Salumeria, and once in a while, the daily special at 12th Street Cantina makes me feel like home.
So, readers, when faced with these endless possibilities, where do you like to go? Falafel at Kamal's or mac'n'cheese at Tootsie's? Do you go to Bassett's for your ice cream, or do you cool down Amish-style at Fisher's? And are the steaks at Rick's really worth the lines, or are they just there because of the publicity? I've tried a few places in RTM and I have to say...the crepes were the only thing worth eating again. There's much better falafel at Pita Pocket and Mama's and much better Mexican just about anywhere else I've eaten. I'm not a huge fan. The places I tried also seemed a bit overpriced for the quality.
Are you serious? Dinic's roast pork rules, Herschel's has great deli stuff. The juice at Four Seasons are pure ripe-fruit purees. Cookies, Candy.

The lines at Rick's are long for a reason. Their steaks are definitely worth the wait. Delicious! (The line moves pretty quickly so it isn't really an issue.) The lines were long even before the current drama began, but they are busier than ever! DiNic's Roast Pork is a must as well. RTM is great!
It's been a while, but I always used to eat at the Thai place in RTM. The name escapes me, but that was my lunch of choice for months.
