  • Apparently there will be a hotel in space in 5 years. A three day stay will cost you a cool $4 million.
  • As you may have noticed from past postings, we're pretty big fans of The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. Reading lead singer Toren Atkinson's blog this morning, we had these observations: Supercthonic would be an awesome title for an album. And the entire concept of writing a song about the "living fossil" coelacanth and titling it "Coelacanthem" is pure brilliance.
  • As many expected he would, New Line co-chairman Robert Shaye seems to be relaxing his former position on Peter Jackson and the company is once again talking with him about directing a film version of The Hobbit.
  • The rights to make new Conan movies have moved again, this time to Millennium Films, and this time it sounds like it might actually happen; Millennium plans to start production by next spring on a Conan film that's more faithful to Robert E. Howard's original stories.
  • Those lucky bastards at Wizard World in Chicago this weekend got to see a sneak peek of what sounds like some really awesome footage from Dark Knight. Sci-Fi Wire has a pretty detailed description of the footage here; if you keep a close eye on YouTube, you might be able catch some pirated video before it gets pulled by the studio.
  • You can watch the intro to Beautiful Katamari for the Xbox 360 - and, perhaps more importantly, listen to the new intro music - right here.

  • We thought Daddy Day Camp looked pretty awful, but as of this writing it's sitting at an impressively terrible 2% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Ouch! (Via)
  • The Movie Blog has for you their very own list of the Top 100 Films of All Time. Let the arguments begin... now!
  • Despite what you may have heard or seen on TV, both Coreys are now rumored to be returning for Lost Boys 2.
  • Apparently in an attempt to make absolutely sure that it will totally suck, Paramount is rushing the film version of G.I. Joe into production, and giving the directing chores to Stephen "Mummy & Van Helsing" Sommers. Ugh!
  • Hey, guess what Kanye West's little bear is wearing on the cover of the upcoming album? Marty McFly's future sneaks!! How do you like that? (Via McFLY 2015)
  • Check out this awesome preview for the animated film adaptation of Darwyn Cooke's incredible graphic novel, New Frontier. The voice casting is in some cases a little surprising (Twin Peaks dude as Superman?!), and in other cases almost too obvious (Lucy "Warrior Princess" Lawless as Wonder Woman), but we think it'll probably work.
