A tall, icy glass of our favorite internet junk, just for you.

- Our friend Boutell makes a very good point about that McDonalds study we were freaking out about the other day. Now we feel a little better about the state of humanity.
- So is Heath Ledger a convincing Joker? Another actor on set says, "Hell yes!" Only not in so many words.
- We do not condone smoking, because it is very bad for you, but if you're going to do it anyway, you obviously need a USB cigarette lighter.
- You know you want to see video of a Japanese dancing robot, so just go ahead and click. (Via)
- The trailer for the 3D animated feature-length film adaptation of Dr. Seuss's Horton Hears a Who is available online. It certainly looks neat...
- Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars might be joining the cast of Lost as a new character named Charlotte, "a hot 20-something who is said to be 'precocious, loquacious and funny.'" Hmm. How about, instead of casting her as a new character, they just have her play Veronica Mars in a big cross-over event? Ratings would be huge!
- We have yet another addition to the cast of Watchmen, and it is Carla Gugino as Sally Jupiter aka The Silk Spectre. Apparently she'll be playing the character throughout the timespan of the film, meaning they'll have to age her quite a bit for certain sequences.
- A couple of news items about the Xbox 360: they're getting HDMI (and possibly other exciting features), but we're not sure it will matter to most consumers; apparently only 30% of Xbox 360 owners know that the current model - the one that they actually have in their houses and, we assume, use quite a bit - supports HD video output. Also, only half of PS3 owners know that the thing has a Blu-Ray drive, and only half of those use it. Incredible!
- Nerd World has the casting specs being used for the major characters of the upcoming Star Trek film, and also passes along an excellent casting suggestion for young Kirk: Nathan Fillion. That's gorram brilliant!
- Scott Adams is taking web comic artist Scott Meyer under his wing, and plans to post his advice and the attendant conversations on his blog. He also links to the guy's comic, Basic Instructions, and what do you know - it's pretty funny! (Of course, he gets extra points for the Big Trouble in Little China references.)
- Here's one of those vaguely creepy - but also impressive and cool - morphing videos celebrating 80 years of women in film.
- You have to be pre-approved to bid on it, but an auction for a dinner with Brett Ratner is up on eBay. And all you need to get it, as of this writing, is slightly more than $2001! (Via)
- Remember how we said yesterday that Comic-Con kept coming back to haunt us, but we were pretty sure we were done with it now? Well, we were wrong. But we're okay with that, because here's a gallery of the Sexiest Geeks of Comic-Con.
- What's the latest with Kevin Smith? Well, he's taking in stride the loss of Rosario Dawson from the cast of his upcoming film Zack and Miri Make a Porno. And he also just might be the guy who'll be directing that intriguing Green Arrow movie we've been posting about, Super Max.
- Warner Brothers is interested in turning Jonny Quest into their next movie franchise. And we have to say, we're kind of excited. We always loved Jonny Quest.
- Uh oh - sounds like the Hellraiser remake may have fallen down a pit into development limbo.
- Heh heh heh. Google accidentally disabled their own Official Google Custom Search blog yesterday morning when their software incorrectly identified it as a spam blog.
- Infamous World of Warcraft celebrity Leeroy Jenkins (his real name is Ben) was at BlizzCon this past weekend, and Joystiq's got a link to an interview with the guy. Perhaps surprisingly, he seems pretty normal, and rather likable. (Via)
- And now, in conclusion, please enjoy this picture of a monkey riding a bull.
