Coming to a Comedy Club Near You, Mike Birbiglia's Secret Public Tour

This Phillyist first became aware of Mike Birbiglia when my younger sister was in high school. She signed up to be on his street team. She kept putting his posters up on my door. She'd corner me until I listened to clips from his albums. People, she found audio streams of his appearances at venues across the country and wouldn't let me out of the house until I admitted that, yeah, the dude was kind of funny. (After her thankfully brief Dane Cook obsession, Birbiglia was practically Carlin, I promise.) By which I mean: I know Mike Birbiglia. And Mike Birbiglia? Is hilarious.

How hilarious is he? Mike Birbiglia is so hilarious that Comedy Central has not only sponsored his CD Two Drink Mike (and his upcoming My Secret Public Journal LIVE), but they've featured him in two separate Comedy Central specials already. Oh, and they're sponsoring his tour. No big thing. Mike Birbiglia is so hilarious that he's one of the youngest comedians ever to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman. Mike Birbiglia is so hilarious that he's renamed George W. Bush "Whiffle Ball Tony" which...okay, frankly, that's enough, in my book. Don't believe me?
