- Hey, you can vote for Philly's best live music venue. We heard about this via XPN, who were obviously hoping you'd vote for their World Cafe Live, but, as Obi-Wan says, you must do what you think is right, of course.
- Hey, check out this trailer for a creepy horror flick made locally and by local sideshow performers. Phillyist's very own Star Foster had a small part in this film playing an unfortunate victim, and we think that just might be her at around 1:39. - Oh, those Google guys. They've got a fun little thing going on right now: a video imagining what happens when someone sends an email. Film your own conclusion to the video and submit it by August 13th and you might see it in the completed version that will run on the GMail homepage and be seen by users worldwide. (Via Jill)

- Aw, this is nice. Helen Slater, who once played Supergirl in the movie, will be guest starring on Smallville (the sixth episode of the season) as Supergirl's aunt.

- BlizzCon was this weekend, and some more details came out there about the upcoming World of Warcraft movie. It'll be live-action, although of course there will be computer-generated effects. The story takes place a year before the events of the game and will be told from the Alliance perspective. The movie should come out in 2009, but keep in mind the director hasn't been picked yet and the script is still in development.
- Also unveiled at Blizzcon was Starcraft 2; Game|Life has impressions.
- The creator of Heroes is promising a couple nasty new villains to appear in the show next season.
- Is another new Wii Remote wrist strap on the way? Do you care?
- John at The Movie Blog might be moving on to bigger and better things, and putting his blog up for sale. Gasp! Here's hoping things work out well for him, and somebody good takes over if and when he leaves.
- Bill Murray might cameo in the Get Smart movie as Agent 13.
- Could a long-delayed sequel to '80s cheese fest The Sword and Sorcerer be in the works?! It sounds like it!
- Cinematical dug up an interesting little story about a cop getting some details about the upcoming Superman sequel from the screenwriter. Not many details, but some. Like, it's in the works. And there will be two villains.
- They're releasing an extended, unrated, director's cut of Uwe Boll's Alone in the Dark?! But... but... why?! Seriously, was anybody clamoring for this? Did anybody actually enjoy the original cut?
- Rumor is that Frank Darabont, who's writing and directing a new film version of Fahrenheit 451, has snagged Tom Hanks for the lead role. But take this one with a large grain of salt.
