Phillyist is pleased as punch to welcome another writer to our staff – and not just because he's dating one of our editors. New staffer Ross Currie is a recent grad of Villanova Law, and he's due to start practicing at a Center City firm this fall. Provided that he's not spending too many late nights writing briefs, you'll be reading his thoughts on music (you can see the two guest posts he's written for us here and here), food, and anything else we ask him to help out with – just like a good boyfriend should. Welcome, Ross!

- This breaking news just in... Generalisimo Rick Olivieri is still fighting with Reading Terminal Market.
- Embattled PA Gaming Control Board Chairman Tad Decker is stepping down, possibly to return to his former law firm, which represents one of the would-be casinos. Insert snide remark about lawyers' ethics here.
- It's not really news, but it makes us happy: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is finally being released on DVD on September 4.
- The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is running 30-second commercials at movie theaters. We're hoping to catch this spot when we go see I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.
- Oh, the Phillies... Shane Victorino and Michael Bourn have joined Chase Utley on the disabled list. And the Phils dropped another game to the surging Cubs last night. At least Eagles training camp is underway.
