A tall, icy glass of our favorite internet junk, just for you.

- Check out this post by a Croatian comic-book artist about his favorite manga. It's as good a way as any to step into the weird and wild world of Japanese comics. Also check out the comments of the Drawn! post that led us to that list, as they contain even more recommendations. (Also, we second the recommendations of Death Note and Uzumaki, which are both awesome.)
- Sci Fi Wire has an article about this, but we prefer The Movie Blog post, entirely because of the accompanying picture. Ahem. Anyways, the story is about the fact that they've picked a director - that being Francis Lawrence of Constantine fame - for the long-gestating, and mighty ridiculous-sounding, re-adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves called Snow and the Seven. In this version of the old story, a British girl being raised in 19th-century Hong Kong seeks the training of seven Shaolin monks to help her overcome an evil force. It sounds silly, but also potentially incredibly fun, and we like the director...
- Sci Fi Wire has more details about the almost unbelievable upcoming ABC sitcom Cavemen, based on those GEICO commercials with the cavemen.
- Some tantalizing hints about where Battlestar Galactica is going, and just WTF is up with Starbuck, are contained in this article. Beware, however: it sounds like we won't be hearing the full explanation of Starbuck's return for quite some time.
- As early as March of next year, a digital tuner could be released for the PS3, turning it into a programmable TV recorder. Woah. It's not very often we hear exciting news from Sony, but we have to admit... that's pretty cool.
- If you have not read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yet, then for GOD'S SAKE do not click this link. But if you have, go right on ahead, as you will find totally interesting details about the future (and past) of Harry's world from the mouth of Jo herself.
- Apparently, Ridley Scott would actually be interested in making a sequel to Blade Runner, and is waiting for the right screenplay. Hmm. Was that the sound of millions of geeks starting to type at the same time?
- Check out the poster for Hellboy 2. We were pretty darn disappointed by the first Hellboy (way too much like your average action movie for our taste), but we have high hopes for the sequel.
- Scarlett Johansson is not interested in playing Jenna Jameson in a film about the famous porn star's life. D'oh.
- Apparently Kevin Costner still likes Waterworld. In fact, he thinks one day it will be recognized as "one of the greatest science fiction adventure yarns ever made." Um, no. Just, no. We'll admit, it's not as awful a film as some people say. But it is, at best, mediocre.
- Joystiq has the detailed results of the 2007 Game Critics Awards available for your perusal. Rock Band is the big winner.
- A new playable character has been announced for Super Smash Bros. Brawl and it's Ike from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Can't say we're too excited about this guy. But he has a sword, at least, which is pretty cool.
- Crushing regulations! Scandal! Theft! Economic crisis! All these and more can be yours in Second Life! Yeah, apparently the famous virtual world is in a bit of a downward spiral at the moment.
- Remember, when cursing out a bunch of teenagers, you're probably being filmed, and it's probably going to end up on YouTube - a fact one Australian Roman Catholic priest has learned the hard way.
- Heh. In this amusing article, Cracked takes a look at the origin stories of famous superheroes, then reveals would have been the result had these ridiculous things happened in real life. (Via)
