
- SEPTA had planned to cancel transfers today, but the judge in the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court case needed more time to decide whether to prevent the cancellation plans, and so issued a temporary injunction that will maintain the status quo until Monday. All of which means, transfers are not cancelled yet.
- A 16-year-old has been arrested in the case of the teen who was killed for his dirt bike. The suspect will be charged as an adult with murder and robbery. Help from the community led to the arrest.
- Two women had their homes invaded and were attacked early yesterday morning, one in Center City and one in South Philadelphia. The assaults do not appear to be connected, and neither woman appears to have suffered life threatening injuries.
- M. Night Shyamalan is pissing off his neighbors in Willistown due to the erection last summer of an eight-foot, green mesh deer fence on his 123-acre property there. The fence is meant to keep deer away from the network of gardens he plans to install, but residents claim "that the fence violated scenic vistas as well as township statutes."
- Philadelphia police have made an arrest in the series of convenience store robberies that have occured over the last two months - 11 in Philadelphia, and one in Lower Merion Township.
- There was a ceremony yesterday marking the formal close of the President's House excavation. "The site will now be temporarily re-covered with earth to protect the resources while the city, the National Park Service, and the public try to determine what the next step will be."
