Back when I had more time to write, I had a postcard-sized red leatherbound book that fit neatly into my bag. When random things happened I'd jot them down for use in a short story at a later date. Somewhere in my move, I lost my idea book. Can't put random thoughts on my blog anymore because all my craziness is on display, only to be judged by random Mystalkers. And I sorely missed my little red book Monday during a two-hour meeting, when I would've killed to disguise to-do list writing as vigorous note-taking.
Luckily, I stumbled onto Hobo Arona. The peeps at this local paper company liberate forgotten, antique-ish books from obscurity and turn them into any number of useable products—such as journals, albums, and stationery. The cover, front pages, and end pages are all from the original book. Only the blank pages inside are new.
Whether it's note-taking, journaling, listing, or doodling, it's more fun to do it stealth-style. Even better, the journals are hand-bound; the papers inside are acid free; and the entire book is enviro-friendly with 90% recycled content. They even do custom orders, so you might be able to channel your inner Dagny Taggart into a hardbound edition of Atlas Shrugged.
