Foodsday Tuesday: Ice Cream Headache

franklinmint.jpg

Holy crap! Somebody forgot to send us the memo, but it seems that July is National Ice Cream Month. That would be far more exciting if there weren't a scant week left before August begins and the happiest month of all (according to our tummies) ends – and we've hardly had a chance to celebrate at all!

Good thing that Reading Terminal Market has come to our rescue. They're seeing National Ice Cream Month off in a big way on Saturday as they gather Terminal ice cream vendor Bassetts Ice Cream together with "Philadelphia's leading independent frozen dessert artisans." In case you're wondering, that means Capogiro, Chilly Philly, The Franklin Fountain, Fisher's Ice Cream, and Bellissimo Gelato. There will be frozen treat samples, games and contests, live entertainment, and, we hope, lots of this and this (is there anything that's not on YouTube these days?).

Remember that lame old rhyme about ice scream? Yeah, well, we're screaming now!
