Built to Spill What, Exactly?

builttospill.jpgAny frequent reader of Phillyist would know that the staff here goes in for retro-sounding harmonies in a big way. That's always been one of the big appeals of Idaho-based Built to Spill (MySpace) for us: their polished, psych-rock harmonies on top of some early-90s garage band-sounding riffs. While we were a little underwhelmed by their latest effort, You in Reverse (it's nice, pretty background music, but not nearly as fun as some of their earlier efforts), we're still totally psyched to check out their live show tonight. We've heard they put on a helluva show, and provided they at least play a few of the songs we remember from high school, we'll be perfectly happy.

Built to Spill with The Stay Lows and Illinois
TONIGHT, Friday, June 6, 8:30PM
NOTE: This concert has been moved to: The Fillmore at the TLA (334 South Street). All tickets for the show at The Electric Factory will be accepted.
Tickets: $20

Your musical tastes are so refined
You should be glad that you're not blind
And tongueless and noseless as a fool's pure mind.
