Peanut butter sandwiches are a magical food. Well, assuming you like peanut butter, which I unequivocally do. Use whole wheat bread and you've got a great high-fiber, protein-rich, quick meal.

try packing a lunch and a snack instead of stopping at the cheesesteak vendor.

sandwiches or food with lots of spices (indian food for example) as well as crackers and carrots and such keep very well without refrigeration.

Also, don't carry cash, it makes buying crap food on the run much more difficult.

hahaha

Fortunately, we've all figured out poster #2's secret -- even if we wanted to buy food, all our money is spoken for.

I know, I know. But if I used "I," it would come across as "please help me with my diet," whereas I think that using "we" universalizes it to the extent that, hey, there are probably other Phillyist readers out there who might benefit from comments on the topic.

So you are all dating the boy? All gained 6 lbs back? Whatever, just seemed weird in the context of this post.

You'll notice that, in general, we're not afraid to use the pronoun "I" around here, but general Gothamist network guidelines dictate the use of the editoral "we." For posts that are more universal in scope, as opposed to more column-based, we try to stick with that guideline.

Does anyone else find the use of 'we' to mean 'the person writing this sentence' incredibly grating?

It's okay -- you can use 'I.'

I (we) will not forget that you are writing on phillyist. Or are all of the site's writers dating 'the boy?' (a moniker only slightly less annoying than the knowing misuse of 'we.')
