The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment.

- The internet is a wonderful place where every day you can find people out there inventing ingenious new foods. Take, for instance, these meatloaf cupcakes where the frosting is made of mashed potatoes. Brilliant! (Via Sarah)
- This appears to have gone up on Thursday last week, but it's the first time we're seeing it, so we'll pass it on to you, in case you're as behind the times as we are: it's a new trailer for the upcoming game by the Penny Arcade guys.
- We still harbor a nostalgic love for the 2D fighter from our high school days down at the local arcade, pumping quarters into Mortal Kombat 2 and the various versions of Street Fighter 2, so we're glad to hear that there will be a new Guilty Gear game for PS2 and Wii this fall.
- You can play music with a Tesla coil. So obviously you should use this technology to play the theme to Super Mario Bros. Nerd power!
- Chris Kohler has posted his impressions of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass in two lengthy posts, after playing the Japanese version. We're afraid to read these posts, of course, for fear of spoilers, but it's clear even from his titles that he thinks the game is awesome, and that's good enough for us.
- Who would play Steve McQueen in a theoretical biopic about the famous action star? His widow has a casting suggestion: Daniel Craig. Hmm... not a bad choice!
- The Weinsteins, in collaboration with Andrew Lau, are planning to make three English-language Hong Kong films that "will seek to redefine the traditional chopsocky movie." They'll be "driven more by plot and character than typical action fare," and instead of wire work they'll have "more full-contact fighting" and "a new generation of action stars." Well, this certainly sounds good, but we'll see what happens...
- Woody Allen is going to direct an opera. Not a film adaptation of an opera, but an actual, real opera. He'll be doing Puccini's Gianni Schicchi (a comedic masterpiece, supposedly) for the LA Opera in September 2008. Apparently the general director, Placido Domingo, has been begging him to do it for some time and he's finally accepted.
- This new full cast photo from Iron Man is cool to see, even if it does feature the actors in some pretty goofy poses. (Via)
- We didn't really care too much for the original Tale of Two Sisters, so we've been assuming we wouldn't even bother seeing the American remake, which will probably be worse. But now that David Strathairn has been cast as the father, we might have to change our mind. That guy's awesome.
- We thought we were going to like Cinematical's list of the Seven Best Bill Murray Performances, but in fact we're horrified by it. How can you make such a list and include dumb films like What About Bob and Kingpin while leaving out Lost in Translation, The Life Aquatic, and Rushmore?! It's a madhouse! A madhouse!!
- Friends, meet Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime, friends.
- The latest trailer for The Simpsons Movie is here, and after watching it, our expectations for this film remain low. We still haven't seen anything really funny. Maybe they're holding back all the best scenes, but given the way trailers our usually made, we kind of doubt it.
- The Movie Blog has a video and a photo of what appears to be a scene featuring Scarecrow being filmed on the set of The Dark Knight. Neat!
- How about a bunch of super cool high res pics from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix? We thought you'd like that. (Via)
- Star Wars - Episode 2: Attack of the Clones blooper reel, anyone? Yes, you can tell the outtakes from the awful footage they left in the movie, because in the outtakes the effects aren't finished. Also, there's more dancing, and people fall over a lot more. (Via)
- It's important to begin passing down the nerd and geek traditions early. That's why this AT-AT stroller is such a brilliant idea. (Via)
