We Promise Lance Armstrong Won't Be There

bike_logo_6_15.jpgLooking for some outdoor fun this weekend? If AccuWeather is to be believed, it won't be raining, so you'll be able to join the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia for their Freedom Valley Ride. There will be five routes to choose from, all incorporating stretches of the Schuylkill River Trail, which proceeds from previous Rides helped build. Those routes range from an eight-mile "easy" ride to a 68-mile journey that will take you all the way through Valley Forge and back.

There will be food and drink stops along the way, as well as mechanical help available. There will even be a massage tent at the end of the ride so you can buy your muscles a welcome rubdown. We think it's great that this is a completely non-competitive ride, so truly all are welcome. All proceeds will benefit the Bicycle Coalition, who are working to make sure city kids learn bike safety and SEPTA has enough bike racks, among many other projects.
