Don't get us wrong. We love Philadelphia. We're still here, aren't we? It's just that, well, living in Philly means we'll never need to stay in a hotel in Philly. And that's too bad, because last week, amongst much fanfare and some tasty gin-and-cucumber cocktails, the newly-renovated Room 414 at the Westin Philadelphia Hotel was revealed, and we'd move in if we could.
What's so special about Room 414? Well, the GPTMC's blog, uwishunu, has given it a "Hip Hotel Room Makeover," transforming it from just another drab hotel room to a veritable gallery of local artwork. Key features in the room include a mural by Meg Saligman of the Mural Arts Project (see photo, above), clever hand- and finger-shaped hardware by Greg Nangel, custom textiles by Kevin O’Brien, and additional artwork by Jenny Lynn and Barbara Schaff. And not only will the room be different from everything else in the hotel, but so will the bathroom supplies (we got to take some home and they're yummy), provided by Duross & Langel.
If you're interested, you can check out more photos of the room after the jump. If you're really interested, well, nobody will judge you if you check in for a night.
Is that wood on your bed, or are you just happy to see us?

The bathroom is full of hidden surprises. Make sure you look up!

Need a hand with all your bathroom accoutrements? Howsabout two?

Nothing bad will happen if you pull this finger. Promise.

Mental blocks.

Don't let its texture deceive you! This chair is actually quite soft.

It's like your own little indoor forest.

Phillyist,
All the time, we wish you didn't live here.
