Even though we kinda just bitched you out for not going to smaller venues and supporting smaller artists, we would love it if you joined us tonight over the bridge at Camden's large outdoor venue, The Tweeter Center. Yes, we're sure there will be a lot of emo and punk kids there but for whatever it's worth, it's going to be an experience and hopefully a fun one.
The 2007 Honda Civic Tour features five acts: Paul Wall, Cobra Starship, The Academy Is..., +44 and Fall Out Boy. (We can't believe a car is actually sponsoring the entire concert.) We personally haven't heard a lot of the music from the first two (and really, who doesn't know who Fall Out Boy is or hasn't seen Pete Wentz' privates?), but The Academy Is... rocks.
So for us, it's really all about The Academy Is... tonight. They are a Chicago-based band that was started on the same label as Fall Out Boy. They are continually compared to Fall Out Boy, and we find their music just as intriguing, but in different ways. Their sophomore record, Santi, has gotten rave reviews across the board and has been playing on my iPod for two weeks non-stop.
