Broken Western Comas in Fishtown

JohnnyBrendaSign.jpgWe've loved The Broken West since we first heard their debut album, I Can't Go On, I'll Go On a few months ago. So imagine our delight when we discovered that they'd be at Johnny Brenda's tonight. And that they wouldn't be alone, but that they'd actually be with the rather kick-ass band The Comas, who we've only just gotten into but we've discovered we totally dig.

The Broken West has an almost Beach Boys kind of sound to their harmonies (we dig their harmonies the same way that we dig Sloan's), but with a modern, poppy twist. The Comas are a little less upbeat, a little more synth-sounding, but no less awesome. It should be a well-balanced show of contrasts, and we're psyched to catch it.
