
- Tonight at 7PM a service will be held at Trinity Church Oxford, a 300-year-old Episcopal parish at Oxford and Longshore Avenues in the Northeast, to honor the African slaves owned by the founding families of the church. Afterwards, a marble memorial stone will be dedicated.
- The big wildfire that raged through New Jersey's Pinelands last week was supposedly sparked by a military training exercise at the Warren Grove bombing range, so yesterday, Governor Corzine called for the closure of said range. However, the fire was fed and fueled by the underbrush and debris that had been accumulating in the forest for years, a problem that won't be so easily solved.
- Mia T. Sardella, a 19-year-old Drexel Hill resident and former Drexel University student, and the mother of the baby found in a car trunk back on January 22nd, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of the newborn. She "spent last night in jail after her arraignment yesterday morning."
