Listen up and listen good: Tonight is your last chance to catch the Seattle, WA, based band Pretty Girls Make Graves in Philadelphia, PA.
It’s true, it’s true, the band bearing the moniker of a The Smiths song is done aurally pleasuring the masses. It’s been a short (almost) six years, but (almost) six years that the Indie rock world won’t soon forget.
The band has released three full-length studio albums. Most recently, PGMG released what would become their final studio album, Élan Vital.
The departure of drummer Nick Dewitt is cited as the reason for the break-up (or cessation of services, as it were). According to a blurb posted on the band’s website, “We are sorry to announce that our upcoming tour in May will be our last. Nick quit the band and the rest of us feel like it wouldn't be right to continue on without him. The 5 of us feel very lucky to have met and worked with some truly amazing people over the years. Thank you all so much...”
We don’t think we deserve the thanks. They do. So, throw on your cleanest shit-kicking shirt and get out to North Star Bar to show your appreciation for PGMG’s (almost) six years of survival in the modern-day rock jungle.

"shit kicking"
I have never heard that phrase but I love it. Have fun tonight - sounds like fun.
