POPSearch 2007

Philly, we know you've got musical talent. You play instruments, write music, dance, dj, and, of course, sing. Some of you sing for money, in venues ranging from the Kimmel Center to any patch of concrete you can grab. Ever thought of taking your tunes on the road? If you have, the Boston Pops want YOU... to put a video of yourself singing on YouTube and join POPSearch 2007. If you can't get your own video up on YouTube, you can also contact them via mail - instructions to do so are on their website.

Basically, this is an American Idol-style competition, but all voting gets done through the internet. The deadline for submissions is midnight on May 23. On May 29th, the Boston Pops Artistic Staff, along with Keith Lockhart, their conductor, will announce the top 16 POPSearch Contestants. From that point on, voting will be open to the public, and concert performances will be held to determine the winner.

So, Philly, now is the time to go ahead and enter. Win. And then come back here with your extra performance experience and make us even more proud!
