The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you.

- Music Nation is currently having a pretty cool online music competition, which has now reached the quarterfinals stage. You can head on over to their site now, listen to music and watch videos by a bunch of artists, and then vote for your favorite. Three of them will win a recording contract with Epic Records. The winners will be announced on May 21.
- Now that Leni Riefenstahl has passed away, it sounds like Jodie Foster can proceed with her plan to make a biopic about the infamous director - over her dead body, as it were. Riefenstahl had objected to Foster's movie plans, because she wanted the right to cut things she didn't like (which Foster wouldn't give her), and wanted Sharon Stone to play her. But now it sounds like Foster will play Riefenstahl as planned.
- We have to say, we weren't a big fan of the Death of Superman graphic novel, but we think the direct-to-DVD animated movie of said storyline could be really cool. Check out the trailer for the movie and see what you think. They appear to be including some of the Return of Superman storyline, as well, which seems like a good idea. (Via)
- Ridley Scott is now on board to direct the upcoming Nottingham, starring Russel Crowe. If you don't remember what that is, read on: "Crowe stars as the Sheriff of Nottingham in a revisionist take on the Robin Hood tale, with Nottingham as a noble and brave lawman who labors for a corrupt king and engages in a love triangle with Maid Marion and Robin Hood." Sounds like a really fascinating idea to us, and we like the talent that's attached...
- We're one of those crazy people who really loved Darren Aronofsky's last film (The Fountain), so we'd definitely be interested in whatever he decided to do next. But it's definitely a plus that his next project actually sounds interesting in its own right: he's going to do the story of Noah. You know, the guy with the boat and the animals. And he wants to deal with the complexities of Noah's character: his survivor's guilt, and the inevitable drinking. Awesome!
- A Dragon's Lair movie sounds like it might be on the way. Supposedly it'll be a traditionally animated prequel to the video game.
- Iron Man director Jon Favreau has confirmed what we already suspected from the pics we've seen: that the movie will feature both the gray suit, and the gold and red suit. Yay!
- This music video, which summarizes all three existing Die Hard movies, and now even previews the upcoming fourth entry, may be the greatest music video ever. Beware the NSFW language, however. (Via)
- You may think you've already seen everything that can be made out of a NES pad - but you're wrong! How about a wireless NES controller that works with the Wii!!! That's some sweet stuff right there.
- God bless the Japanese. They're making a TV show out of lawyering video game Phoenix Wright.
Just click through and check out the picture of the cast in costume, complete with "Objection!" sign.Okay, maybe that's not the real cast. But still... Brilliant! - Is the SNES controller the most influential game pad ever? Just look at the facts! (Via)
- Turns out, as you might have already suspected, that story we posted yesterday about Sony 's God of War II party involving the slaughtering of a goat and the feeling of its innards by shocked reporters wasn't entirely true. There was a goat, and it was dead, but it had been pre-killed and purchased from a butcher, to whence it was returned afterwards, and no one touched it or ate it. Sony apologized for including a dead goat in its PR stunt, anyway, though.
- Sometimes we do want to reserve something, but this shirt is still funny.
- We'd read a while ago that a small amount of the ashes of James "Scotty" Doohan were going to get blasted into space, and it turns out that it finally happened on April 28th. Apollo astronaut Gordon Cooper's ashes were also included in the launch. This news makes us sad all over again for some reason.
- It should surprise no one that the stuck-up, irascible New Yorker film critic Anthony Lane doesn't like Spider-Man 3. And that's okay, because we generally don't like him. But we give a hearty "right on" and "fucking A" to this particular quote from his review of the film: "The fact is that if the fantastical is to flourish it must lay down the conditions of its magic and abide by them; otherwise, we feel cheated." Yes. Yes, yes, yes. So many contemporary fantasy/sci-fi/horror movies do not do this, and it always pisses us off.

That's not the cast of Phoenix Wright. That's just a bunch of cosplayers.
Hmm, you're probably right. Joystiq doesn't credit the image, so I don't know where it's from, but I made an unfair assumption based on its inclusion with the post.
