One of the most anticipated movies of the not-quite-summer is Spider-Man 3. The film comes out this weeked, but the soundtrack comes out tomorrow. We were lucky enough to get our hands on a pre-release copy of said soundtrack (ah, the advantages of being not-quite-press!), and we're here to tell you it's pretty hot. First of all, with the exception of Chubby Checker's "The Twist," every track on here was recorded specifically for this disc. That means brand new music from bands like Snow Patrol, The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wolfmother, The Walkmen, The Flaming Lips (who contribute the song with the longest and most ridiculous title ["The Supreme Being Teaches Spider-Man How to Be in Love"], surprising no one), Simon Dawes, and Jet. And it's not crummy music, either; it's pretty rocking. We're not usually a big fan of Snow Patrol or The Killers, but their tracks here are pretty good. You can check out a video of Snow Patrol's track, "Signal Fire," on YouTube, and listen to The Walkmen's contribution, "Red River," in Windows Media (hi, lo), or QuickTime (hi, lo). We are a huge fan of Wolfmother, and their track, "Pleased to Meet You," is so fun that it alone makes the disc worth buying.
But why buy it when you can get it for free? That's right, we're giving away a copy of the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack. And that's not all! Included in the prize pack will also be a Spi-Dog, which is a lovable, though also slightly frightening, dog-spider hybrid that can hook up with your iPod and rock out to your tunes - tunes like those on the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack, perhaps. And that's still not all! You'll also get a Spider-Man action figure, and a web spinner of your very own that you can attach to your wrist and use to swing yourself through the streets of Center City! Well, okay, maybe not. In fact, definitely don't try that. And don't sue us if you do.
The point is, cool prizes can be yours! And all you have to do is fill out the form below before end of day on Friday, May 4. Oh, and if you want to see pictures of all the cool prizes, just click the "read more" link below.
