Return to Sender: Sonnet to Spring

Oh, readers! I may or may not be a little delirious from some very strong medication my doctor put me on...

magnolia_pink_wh_house2.jpgOh spring, that sees the flowers bloomin'
But here I lay, just a-bedroomin'.
I've barely left my place for days,
Although I've tried a dozen ways.

Wind blows the trees; the petals start fallin'
And this means that there's lots of pollen,
Which my body and I don't like inside us,
That's how I got me tonsilitis.

No surgery's needed, the doctor said,
But I can hardly get out of bed.
At least the swelling's going down,
So maybe tomorrow I can walk downtown.

It's when I'm sick I miss Philly mostest,
A girl couldn't ask for a better hostess.
