I don't know, that would be an extremely rare (and possibly archaic) usage if so, and the formulation "...of players gathered from available records" suggests they were really looking for "compilation."

I think it might be ok though. A compellation is an act of addressing names. I'm not sure about the plural structure though.

The extreme nitpicker in me wants to point out, also: Shouldn't it be "omissions or errors"? Don't they both need to be plural, in order to be in parallel structure? But, as Gail pointed out, they're not taking responsibility for it anway.

It clearly states they apologize for any errors. Don't they get credit for carving a discalimer in granite as well?
