Opera comes to the Philly campus scene this week, with both Curtis and Temple putting on fantastic productions of Argento's Postcard from Morocco and Mozart's Don Giovanni, respectively. If you plan your week well enough, you'll get a chance to see both schools' rising stars in action.

The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia delights the ears with Schoenberg's revolutionary Verklärte Nacht and Paganini's seductive Variazione sul Carnevale di Venezia.

As part of the Fresh Ink Series, the Kronos Quartet will perform Terry Riley’s Sun Rings, a multimedia performance incorporating NASA sounds and images and "celestial string performance."

If you've never heard a gamelan concert, get yourself on over to Bali and the Beguilelment of the Gamelan, featuring the Gamelan Galak Tika and the Classical Symphony. This unusal collaboration will trace four generations of composers who have attempted to capture the unique sounds of the gamelan in a wonderful blend of East and West.

Saturday
The Mendelssohn Club Chorus fittingly puts on Mendelssohn's Elijah, a fiery and dramatic grand oratorio about the prophet Elijah.
