- The kid with the iPod who participated in the assault of Germantown High School teacher Frank Burd pleaded guilty yesterday to aggravated assault.
- Also pleading guilty was a man who stole 165 Civil War documents from the National Archives Philadelphia office. He sold between 70 and 80 of them on eBay - which is actually what got him caught. Now he could spend as many as 10 years in jail.
- Looks like Tom Knox's momentum is still going strong: the latest Daily News/Keystone poll has him on top now with Chaka Fattah and Bob Brady close behind. Lots of people are still undecided, though, and very few percentage points separate the various candidates, so it's still all up for grabs. We're rooting for Milton to take it all via a wild last minute write-in campaign.
- A 22-year-old male says that two men forced him inside his home in West Oak Lane Wednesday night and demanded money. He then pulled a gun of his own and they had a little shoot-out. He killed one of the intruders, and kept firing at the other one from his window as the guy ran away. The home invasion victim was wounded in the altercation, but was treated and released; the police are still holding him pending further investigation and possible charges, but it sounds like he'll get away with justifiable homicide, which means the city's murder toll doesn't go up! Woo hoo!
