What's new and/or interesting on TV this week.

The Shield (Tue, 10PM-11:10PM, FX) - The sixth season of this popular cop show starts off with a flurry activity, as Claudette assigns the team to a fire at a methadone clinic because she wants Vic off the case of Lem's murder. She always tells Vic the brass wants him to retire. Meanwhile, there are confrontations, erratic behavior, a robbery at a porn shop, and a crime scene that's sickeningly gruesome even to veteran cops. Oh, the fun!

Welcome to the Grindhouse (Tue, 11PM-11:30PM, Sci-Fi) - A behind-the-scenes look at Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's much-anticipated crazy double feature, Grindhouse, which opens, at long last, this weekend. Exciting!

Hazard Pay (Wed, 8PM-9PM, Discovery) - A new show that takes a look at dangerous occupations. The first episode examines what it takes to be a repo man. Hosted by Curt Doussett.

Lost (Wed, 10PM-11PM, ABC) - It's on at 10 now? Okay, whatever. This new episode is about Kate getting betrayed and Hurley warning Sawyer he could end up banished if he doesn't change his selfish ways.

SportsCenter Special: NFL Schedule Release Special (Thu, 7:30PM-9:30PM, ESPN) - Football season isn't exactly right around the corner, but we can pretend it is by watching this two hour special that takes a deep look at the upcoming year's NFL play schedule. The top match-ups are highlighted, each team is evaluated, and key personnel are interviewed. Woo hoo! Football!

Happy Birthday Elton (Thu, 8PM-10PM, Myphl17) - Elton John recently turned 60 (holy crap!), and this is a recording of a concert he gave to celebrate the occasion on March 25th at Madison Square Garden. Interestingly enough, it also happened to be his 60th performance at the venue.

Kaw (Sat, 9PM-11PM, Sci-Fi) - A movie about ravens attacking a small town, starring Sean Patrick Flanery and Rod Taylor (holy crap, he's still alive?), and called Kaw. Oh, Sci-Fi. How we love you.

Masterpiece Theatre (Sun, 9PM-10:30PM, PBS [WHYY,WLVT]) - They're doing a live-action adaptation of the great children's book Wind in the Willows. Crazy! Also, really makes us want to go on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (although sadly that is apparently no longer possible).
