Wow! First Friday again? Guess that's what happens when you've got a month that's only twenty-eight days long. Unfortunately, Phillyist is going to have to miss this month (our duties in the world of theatre criticism call), but here are a couple of First Friday events we'd be hitting up if we weren't going to be in a darkened room twenty blocks away.

The Peek-a-Boo Revue Burlesque: When The Five Spot burned down early last month, the Peek-a-Boo Revue was left costumeless, propless, and venueless. But that doesn't mean that they've stopped performing. Quite the opposite, in fact: this weekend looks to be Peek-a-Boo-full, starting with a free First Friday art exhibition at Glam. Works at the exhibition will be for sale, with proceeds to help get the Revue back on its feet. Glam is located at 52 South Second Street, just below Market.
An Evening With Aziza Kinteh: Phillyist has a deep, sincere appreciation of spoken word, possibly because it's something we know we're not very good at. And apparently, every First Friday, Jose Sebourne Graphic Design hosts an "art extravaganza" featuring spoken word, music freestyling, and even a chance for those in attendance to show their skills at the open mic. The Jose Sebourne Art Gallery is located at 1213-15 Vine Street. (Okay, so it's a little off the beaten First Friday path, but definitely worth checking out nonetheless.) A $5 donation gets you in the door.
Pinot: We recommended Pinot last month, too, but now we're pleased to be recommending them again for a completely different reason: free food courtesy of Lucy's Hat Shop, and live jazz by the Chris Giraldi trio. Plus, if you stick around, we hear Lucy's is hosting a sweet afterparty. Pinot is located on Market Street, between 2nd and 3rd Streets.
