McDade Allegedly McDiddles Himself

In another case of Republicans getting caught with their pants down (literally this time), The Times Leader's Terrie Morgan-Besecke is reporting that former U.S. Congressman Joseph McDade, widely considered THE man in the Scranton Wilkes-Barre neck of the woods, allegedly exposed himself to several people by a resort pool in Sanibel Island, Florida on January 18.

One witness said she thought that he "was a mental patient" because he made no attempt to hide his actions.

The state Attorney’s Office in Florida on Wednesday issued a summons for McDade, 75, of Fairfax, Va., for one count of exposure of sexual organs. The charge is a first-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

McDade was a widely popular Republican who served in the 10th Congressional District from 1963 to 1999.

A husband and wife who were on the beach at the time were questioned as part of the police report, allowing for an even more perverted twist to the already sordid tale:

The investigating officer next spoke with a husband and wife, who claimed McDade fondled himself as he watched the woman sitting on the beach. The woman said she tried not to make eye contact with McDade, but she looked up again and saw him fondling himself. She said she put on a beach cover-up and walked toward the boardwalk and McDade followed her.

The woman said she then went to wash her feet at a foot shower and again saw McDade fondling himself while standing on the beach boardwalk.

Phillyist isn't sure how to, ::cough::, 'handle' this situation. In, err, ON one hand the guy is 75 and suffers from Parkinsons and is trying to get his rocks off without being too much of a bother. On the other, he's masturbating in public, allegedly.

The date of his hearing has not yet been set, so surely some more information will surface about the charges in the coming weeks.
