V-Day Sucks, Unless You Like Good Music/Free Hooch*

This holiday sure can suck if you haven't found that perfect partner, mistress, or craigslist missed connection to share it with. It's cool, don't resign yourself to an evening of watching Lifetime alone just yet, because BCKSEET Productions is gearing up for the third annual anti-Valentines Day concert/singer/songwriter competition.

The admission includes a free drink, a raffle ticket and a CD of artists from the event. You'll need to provide your own wingman though, sorry. The evening is a benefit for the April production of Hung on a Blonde Ponytail: An Act of Rock, and there will be a teaser for the show during the fundraiser. But that's a ways away and there's fun to be had now.

Because it's a competition, "Each musician has to perform three songs, one ballad, one up-tempo rock song and then one cover of a love song," said BCKSEET's Public Relations/Marketing Director Amanda "Snazzy" DiGiandomenico. Last years winner, Ashley Phillips, will get her own 30-45 minute set. Between sets prizes from local theatres, cultural and sporting events, restaurants, dance/yoga classes, etc. will be raffled off. No chocolate hearts or dozen roses though, we promise. The show is all ages, so bring your friends.
