Carnaval!

alobrasil100.jpgWe get it -- it's cold. You don't want to move, let alone take a jog or a run in this freezing weather. It's oh so easy to turn into a lump on your couch watching Extras on DVD.

Snap out of it. After all, it's Carnaval, and you don't need to go to Brazil for a taste of the colorful holiday. Alo Brasil is doing not one, but two shows on Saturday at World Cafe Live. The music, the costumes, the drums -- seeing Alo Brasil is an experience for all your senses. Last time this Phillyist saw Alo Brasil at World Cafe Live, the waiters and waitresses were dancing -- not because they weren't doing their jobs, but because they had no one to serve. Every person in the place was dancing, white guys included. A great way to work out and work it at the same time.

The first show's at 7p.m. and includes a Brazilian-style buffet. The 10:30p.m. show is a full-out dance party. Whichever show you go to -- wear shoes you can move in. There's no way you'll stand still.
