Kiss Kiss bassist Pat happens to be the brother of my good friend and house-mate Chris and, while I have yet to see them perform live, Chris tells me it is an event that no one should miss. I heard the new album via ITunes and their music is fucking brilliant. They go from near-System of a Down intensity to sweeping, epic interludes and back again in minutes. It's the most original stuff you'll hear this year.
I have given the other bands a listen via MySpace and can guarantee that this will be a most excellent show. And I know you have $7 dollars to give to starving, van-imprisoned bands instead of burly bouncers and major-label brats.
Oh, and I should mention that your humble author is a member of Possibility Complex. We're opening, I think, so if you want the chance to throw stuff at me, show up a little before 8 and scream "PHILLYIST!" until someone with short brown hair and glasses makes his presence known to you, probably by ducking out of the way of whatever it is you decide to throw at him, um, me.
This is a house party + a basement show, so prepare to sweat and bring your dancing shoes.
