Giving Back Some Brotherly Love: Talk About Philly Soul

Philllyist is greatly saddened that, with the passing of the Big Game, there is no more pro-football to be had for quite some time (the Pro-Bowl doesn't count. It really doesn't). However, in order to tide over our thirst for a rejuvenated Eagles making it all the way next season, we will take solace in the Philadelphia Soul, our very own arena football team.

We told you that story to tell you this one: Jon Bon Jovi, he of Philadelphia Soul fame (oh yeah, and that whole Slippery When Wet thing too) has teamed up with Kenneth Cole to form RSVP to HELP, a charity benefiting the homeless. Right now they have an auction up on eBay, offering "experiences" with celebs in addition to material objects. Have a yen to see Justin Timberlake in London? It'll set you back a pretty penny, but if you need to bring your sexy back Phillyist won't judge. There's also a Flyers game package, designer handbags, and a personal design lesson with Kenneth Cole, to name a few. Oh, and don't miss the signed Bon Jovi guitar and Philadelphia Soul jersey.

All proceeds (that's right, 100%) from the auctions will go to three charities: Habitat for Humanity, HELP USA, and the Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation. The latter is still working on its website, but reports that their first project has already begun in North Philly, making this truly a hometown affair.
