The Philly Auto Show is in town this weekend! We're reasonably certain none of the cars there will be able to transform into giant robots, but it will still be pretty cool. If you're interested in previewing the show, and you've got some extra cash lying around, festivities can start for you tonight at the Black Tie Tailgate Preview Gala. There'll be food, drink, and entertainment, and best of all, all proceeds will go to the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
But the Auto Show really officially starts tomorrow and continues through next weekend, and will feature appearances by multiple Eagles, including miracle man Jeff Garcia, iron man David Akers, and giant man Jon Runyan. Phils' shortstop Jimmy Rollins will also be there, as will the "Mercury girl" (that annoying woman from those commercials), and Subaru driver Dave Rosenblum. And, if you're interested in bringing the family, be aware that Sunday, February 11th will be Kids Day at the Auto Show.
They're trying to bring the street to the show room floor this year with The Tuner Salon, an area of the show that's all about modified cars, and which features "club themed lighting, live performances from some of the hottest DJ's around, and of course, some amazing tricked out rides." Club themed lighting? What does that even mean?
Anyways, sounds like there'll be some entertaining stuff there, and from what we've seen through the windows of the Convention Center (yep, that's where the photo above came from), there are definitely some really sweet cars on display. Gearheads rejoice!
