What's new and/or interesting on TV this week.
Golden Globe Awards (Mon; 8PM-11PM; NBC) - During the 64th annual occurrence of this TV and movie awards show, Warren Beatty will receive the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award. The winners of the other awards are, of course, still a secret. (Check E! at this same time Tuesday night for the inevitable run-down of the clothing and fashions.) (Link)
American Idol (Tue; 8PM-10PM; Fox) - Oh, boy. Here we go again. (Link)
22nd Century (Wed; 8PM-9PM; PBS [WHYY]) - A new PBS show, yay! As you may have guessed from the title, it takes a look at where science might be in 100 years. This episode looks at the future of the human mind - the idea that our brains might all be connected, like computers are networked via the internet, and the idea of inserting wires into the brain's blood vessels. (Link)
MythBusters (Wed; 9PM-11PM; Discovery) - It's a two-hour long "MythBusters" pirate special exploring, amongst other things, what would happen if one ship fired a broadside cannon barrage into another ship. Awesome! Also, arrr! (Link)
Smallville (Thu; 8PM-9PM; The CW) - When did this show become The Justice League? Clark isn't even mentioned in the episode description this time; it's all about Green Arrow, Impulse, Aquaman and Cyborg trying to destroy LuthorCorp's secret laboratory. (Link)
Colbert Report (Thu; 11:30PM-12AM; Comedy Central) - Hol-ee crap. Bill O'Reilly is on. You can't miss this one. Or, you know, if you do, definitely make sure to catch it on YouTube later. (We hear Colbert is also going to be on O'Reilly's show the same day, but there's no way we were going to list O'Reilly's show here.) (Link)
Ocean's Deadliest (Sun; 8PM-9:30PM; Discovery Channel & Animal Planet) - In Steve Irwin's final documentary, he and Phillippe Cousteau do all kinds of crazy crap, like catching salt-water crocodiles and venomous sea snakes, diving with great white sharks, and playing with a blue-ringed octopus. The movie is followed by a half-hour profile of Irwin called "Crikey, What an Adventure!" (Link)
Battlestar Galactica (Sun; 10PM-11PM; Sci Fi) - The best show on TV is back, on a new day and time, with the continuation of the Eye of Jupiter storyline. Yay! (Link)
