Happy Birthday to the King!

We went to the party on Friday, but Elvis Presley's birthday is actually today. He would have been seventy-two.

The internets are full of Elvis stories today: Elvis and Nixon (and their clothes!), the establishment of Graceland as a National Historic Landmark, a posthumous birthday party, the Elvis cookbook, attracting a new generation of Elvis fans, and, of course, peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

Several radio stations are inserting Elvis into their playlists, The Biography Channel has his picture on their homepage (yet oddly enough, they don't seem to be playing his episode tonight), and even the Mummers seemed to be celebrating his birthday during the parade.

As for us? Well, we might just break out our blue suede shoes while we kick back and watch Jailhouse Rock—it's got to be on some channel or another tonight!
